There are a few possible reasons why Microsoft Edge might open on startup. After clicking on it, Edge begins to load. In the center of the image, there is an image with links to Edge. You can get rid of the Edge Lock screen image by using a Win10 image or a stock image of your choice. The browser does not open automatically, as the user clicks a link in the first startup screen that begins the process.

There are no known web-based fixes for preventing Edge from opening. The Firefox browser appears as the default browser on my computer. If you have Windows 11, which is currently available on Windows 10, you should be able to fix the same problem as described below. The PC Buyer reports that if you start Stop Edge at startup, it begins at Sleep. However, you can disable this feature so that Edge doesn’t automatically open after sleep. By default, Edge is set to resume your last browsing session when you start it back up.
